Welcome to the FAQ! Here is some General Info about the comic and other little things that I have been asked over the past few weeks that this comic has been on line.
What is the purpose of this site?
My goal for this site is to help create a world that I have been creating for the past several years. As well, I would like it to be a good read for all of my fans.
When is Evangeline updated?
It is updated about once a week to every two weeks. This all depends on my real-life commitments(less we forget I do have a forum to supervise and college).
Who are the authors?
That would be Rory, Aki, Laurannia, and Chaos.
About Evangeline:
Who or what is Evangeline?
The name of Evangeline comes from the Greeks, which means the messenger of good news. I was inspired to use the name because of a local church. I've always loved the name and thought that it might be good to get away from using the standard British themed names that I use. She started off as Greek girl, but then I decided that it might be more interesting for the storyline to add angel like beings, due to where it is located. As for who she is, Evangeline is an angelic like being.
Where does the story take place?
The story takes place on a fictional island somewhere in the Adriatic Sea, between the nations of Italy and the former Yugoslavia. There is a divide in the island, for the north and south are two completely different nations. Of course, there are also a lot of strange beings that live on it, that are based off of Roman and other Ancient cultures. I do not have it set in an exact time period because it helps keep the mystery of what or where this island really is.
How did you get the idea for this story?
I was hit on the head with a stone brick. Lol. In all truth, I was inspired by Haibane Renmei and the novel Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World. I also wanted to work in some of my other well liked written characters from my currently floundering stories. Some parts were based off a Native American legend called the Sky Woman. But for the most part, I wanted to make fun of some of the more common themes that are presented in such stories, like love and relationships.
As well, Aki started a RPG on it and after sometime passed, it became a sort of Evangeline spin off once Geneva, Evangeline, and several other characters from the series, However, after awhile, attendance was knocked down to mostly Aki and Rory. Now, it has evovled into this project.
Are any of the characters based on real people?
Yes, they are. Most of the cast is in fact, but in order to prevent them from just being your run of the mill clones or Mary sues, I added some other elements that are not entirely them. Some of the other character come from a story that Laurannia and I are writing called Leaving Serenity.
Are you looking for co-authors?
At this time, Aki and I have most things sent. However, this can always change.
Who does what in this comic anyway?
Aki, Chaos, and Rory technically write it. Chaos and Rory also upkeep the site. Laurannia occasionally writes funny commentaries but not much else. Rory writes boring commentaries and draws everything. Most things only make sense to him. Aki is afraid of the commentary button. Chaos, makes long rants about nothingness and he is the guy that tortures readers with stick figures.
Please no questions like this. They give Chaos a headache. This whole comic is made for personal interpritation, everyone will get something different out of it. I love hearing what people think, but the plot is meant to be a secert until it is published, k? :D
What is Chaos' Otaku Theater?
Trust us. You don't want to know. It is most likely that Chaos was wasted and wanted to do something Megatokyo-ish... Anyways, it focuses on the stupid day to day things that we do, or at least the demented things that Chaos believes that we do. Plus, I let him do this so I can have a filler comic if the shit hits the fan. As well, it makes Laurannia believe that this site is more active than it really is.

As for Laura, there are ways of tracking her down. Laura's ADD often makes her forget either that this place exists, let alone e-mails. If you really want to contact Laurannia, you can come through me. This naturally perpetuates the rumor that there is no real Laurannia, but what are you gonna do?. What gender are you blokes?
I seem to get asked this a lot. I, Rory, am most definitely a male.Laura and Aki are both girls. Chaos, we still believe is a male, though Laura likes to object.
Comic Creation:
What tools are used to create your comicThe line art is created on standard drawing paper. I still do everything by hand because I like that style. Also, I like to keep the sketchiness of the comic, by using graphite drawing pencils, with occasional charcoal. I then do some minor fixing in Photoshop, along with the texting because my hand writing sucks.
How long does it take you to do each comic?
About a day, mainly because I have to do several steps to get it the exact way I want it to turn out.
Will you help me start a web comic?
Depends on what you are looking for, I like discussing your ideas but I cannot say much on style or things of that nature. It has taken me years to get where I am and I still do not consider myself good by any means. I do offer some critiques, but I will not give you direct what's right and wrong with the storyline. I will suggest how to add on to it. As for the art work, since I don't use many programs, I can't really help you in that sense. If you do it by hand, I can offer some suggestions on how to make the figure more atomically correct.
Image Usage:
Can I use any of your images on my website/blog?
As I quote most other people: "Since this is the internet, I cannot really stop you from using my images but please don't claim them as your own or try to sell them on line as your own." These characters are copyrighted by the Inner Journey Studios and Stunts Productions. If you do use them on another site for photo shopped images a link-back would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please email me. If you are going to use them to help promote webcomics, again I would just ask for a link. I am not that picky, honestly. ^__^
Can I use the avatars from the characters list?
Yes, feel free to use the avatars. In fact, I can personally create some for you.

What other things do you do?
Well, that is what the about page is for. But in a quick little blurb, I am a living historian for the most part. I focus on doing first person impressions, which requires the few acting courses that I have taken.
How about the girlz?
Laura spends all her time on the internet. Aki writes and makes scones.

Do you accept doing comissions?
Depends on how busy I am at the time. For now, it is best to ask. I personally don't really like doing them, but I am always willing to help a fellow artist find their characters.
